Car crashes through parking lot wall
A 38-year-old driver narrowly escaped a terrifying accident at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (Serdang Hospital) in Malaysia after his car crashed through the wall of a multi-story parking lot.
The man, who has a history of heart disease, experienced sudden chest pain while driving, causing him to lose control of his red Honda WR-V.
The vehicle surged forward and smashed through the barrier on the third floor, leaving half of it hanging over the edge.
Three passengers escaped with minor injuries
According to Berita Harian, Hospital Sultan Idris Shah (HSIS) director Dr. Farique Rizal Abdul Hamid said the driver’s medical emergency led to the crash, which damaged the metal railing and part of the parking lot’s concrete wall.
At the time of the incident, three passengers were inside the car. Fortunately, they managed to exit safely before firefighters arrived and sustained only minor injuries.
Firefighters secured the scene and removed the vehicle
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an alert at 2.25 pm and dispatched a team of six firefighters from the Seri Kembangan station, NST reported.
They arrived at 2.38 pm, secured the scene, and cordoned off the area to prevent further danger. A tow truck was later called in to carefully remove the vehicle from the edge.
No foul play suspected
Police confirmed that the incident was accidental and not due to any external factors. Debris from the crash fell onto a Toyota Avanza parked below, but no additional injuries were reported.
The situation was resolved without further complications.
