Flying with your dog in first class may sound like a far-fetched dream for many pet lovers. But a new boutique airline launched recently, aims to make the “white paw experience” a reality. BARK Air describes itself as “the world’s first air travel experience designed specifically for dogs first, and their human companions second.”
From New York to Los Angeles, the inaugural flight on May 23, 2024, had tails wagging with excitement as Bark Air proudly proclaimed that it’s all about the pups up here. Move over, first-class humans, because the doggies are the true VIPs of this high-flying adventure! Tickets were gone in the blink of an eye, faster than a dog chasing a tennis ball! And can you blame them? Finally, a solution for those furry travelers tired of being crammed into backpacks or treated like forgotten luggage in the cargo hold.
So, the next time you gaze up and see a plane soaring above, just picture a cabin filled with pampered pooches living their best life at 30,000 feet. Now that’s what I call flying in style! Wait, there’s more! On these Bark Air flights, your canine companion isn’t just along for the ride, they’re in for a treat! With opportunities to socialize, indulge in tasty snacks, and even don ear protectors for a quieter journey, every pup is treated like royalty. But let’s not forget their human counterparts, they too can enjoy the perks of this exclusive experience.
Bark Air spares no expense when it comes to comfort and luxury, with spacious Gulfstream G5 jets ensuring plenty of room for all passengers, regardless of size or breed. And with tickets starting at $6,000 for a one-way trip, it’s clear that Bark Air is the ultimate in high-flying extravagance.
As the demand for pet-friendly travel continues to grow, Bark Air is poised to lead the way in this exciting new market. With its inaugural flight marking a major milestone, the airline is set to expand its routes and services in the coming months, offering a new era in canine aviation.
So, pack your pup’s bags and get ready for the journey of a lifetime with Bark Air. Because when it comes to travelling in style, no one does it better than our four-legged friends!

@herboozytails another way to fly your dogs just landed 🛬 and it’s just the beginning!!! 🤩 @Shop BARK Air invited us out to fly on their inaugural flight so y’all know we said BE RIGHT THERE 🗺️ ROUTES // BARK Air is currently flying to LA, NY, and London and adding Paris soon! The goal is to connect many more cities soon 🐾 THE DOGS // each flight will be different in terms of how the dogs interact, if the flight is full of friendly & well-behaved dogs, they’re welcome to play in the air. But if there are any reactive or nervous pups on board, precautions will be taken like making sure everyone stays in their own space ⛑️ SAFETY // they have a trained vet tech on every flight to help monitor & care for the dogs, who is also trained in first aid + CPR for all breeds in case of emergencies 🤑 COST // this is a PRIVATE charter service + the price reflects that — with LA → NY flights being $6,000 per human (including 1 dog) and NY → London being $8,000. Obviously this is not an option for many, or frankly most, pet parents, but their goal is to change that 💩 BATHROOMS // dogs can go potty until right before getting on the plane (and right after getting off) — otherwise they hold it. In case of puppies or senior pups who can’t hold it, an emergency potty pad can be laid down 🐩 BREED/SIZE RESTRICTIONS // none! 💼 CONCIERGE // one of my fave parts is they have a team dedicated to making this the best experience possible. Your concierge will reach out with questions before the flight to ensure you + your pups needs are met, your complimentary car service booked, etc! we had an incredible experience and are so excited to see where BARK Air goes next — I know they (and we) are working hard to create more safe & accessible options for dog-friendly travel! _ #traveldog #dogfriendly #travelingwithdogs #dogfriendlytravel
