6,000 Voices, One Roar
They came in numbers. And they made themselves heard.
An estimated 6,000 Bangladeshi supporters filled the stands at the National Stadium in Kallang on 31 March, turning the Bangladesh vs Singapore clash into something that felt far from an away game.

Loud, cheerful, and full of energy, the sea of red and green never quite let up. Chants echoed. Flags waved. For long stretches, it felt like Bangladesh had brought a piece of home with them.
“We Will Fight For Them”
For Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuyan, the support was not unexpected — but it was still deeply felt.
“We know there’s a lot of Bengalis here and whenever we go to countries where there’s a lot of Bengalis, we quite often see this kind of crowd.”
He acknowledged the strong turnout, noting how supporters had shown up in full force even for what was officially a routine fixture.

“You realise about the fans, you realise about people coming, who have paid a ticket with their hard earned money… and you appreciate that.”
While players stay focused during the match, Bhuyan said it is before and after the game that the weight of that support truly sinks in.
“We will have them in our mind and we will fight for them as well.”
“Rambunctious” to Some—But in the Best Way
One Instagram post described the travelling fans as a “rambunctious lot.”

But the comments told a different story.
One user wrote:
“No need for such a caption — they came to support their team in numbers and were far louder than us… We’ll do well to learn from their passion 🙌”
Another added:
“I actually thought they made it more fun and hype than other matches!”
If anything, the atmosphere they created made the match feel bigger, louder, and more alive.
Staying Back, Stepping Up
The match ended in a 1-0 loss for Bangladesh. But what happened after the final whistle left a stronger impression than the scoreline.

Groups of Bangladeshi fans stayed behind. Neither to protest, nor linger, but to clean. They picked up litter, cleared their sections, and quietly did their part before heading out.

A TikTok post by @dylantanofficial captured the moment, with a simple caption:
“It didn’t go unnoticed. A small but selfless act.”
Winning Hearts Beyond The Scoreline
Even in defeat, Bangladesh supporters left a mark — not just through their noise, but through their respect.
Midfielder Hamza Choudhury summed it up best:
“For them to travel and spend their hard-earned money to support us like that — even when we haven’t qualified — is second to none.”
