Snakes Released After Management Fails to Enforce Rules
In an unusual protest against rule violations, a resident of a condominium in Bangkok’s Ratchada area released two snakes into a shared hallway.

The act was meant to address the management’s continued failure to enforce its no-pet policy.
Years of Pet Complaints Allegedly Ignored
Despite the rules, several residents continued keeping pets, such as dogs, cats, and other animals in their units, resulting in frequent disturbances such as loud barking, unpleasant odours, and flea infestations.
According to reports, the management allegedly ignored repeated complaints from frustrated tenants.
Eventually, one resident took matters into their own hands, not by filing another report, but by releasing two snakes into the hallway near the elevator.
Resident Took It to Social Media
The resident took this to social media, which has since gone viral.
The snakes, one black and one brown, were captured on video and circulated quickly in the building’s group chat before spreading online.

A viral Facebook post captured the resident’s intent:
Rough translation:
This is what we call ‘revenge between condo residents.’ Here’s the story, my condo doesn’t allow pets.
But some people still secretly keep dogs, cats, whatever. There’s barking, there’s smell, there are even fleas and ticks. Other residents are affected too. We’ve reported it to the management for years, but nothing ever happened. They couldn’t fix the problem.…So now we have this: ‘If you keep dogs, I’ll keep snakes.’And not in my room either but, right out in the elevator hallway. Go ahead, walk your dogs and cats.
Let the pets play together like one big happy family. The snake will show the dog some love by giving it a tight hug. So tight the dog won’t be able to make a sound.
Social Media Reactions Stir Debate
The footage sparked a wave of reactions. While some residents were alarmed by the presence of snakes in shared spaces, others supported the protest, calling it a creative response to long-ignored issues
Another resident of the condominium commented on the situation:
Rough translation: Got this from the residents’ group at the condo…They’ve been reporting to management for years about a neighbour keeping a dog that’s disturbing others, but management never took any action… Until this person released snakes right in front of the neighbour’s door.
The ‘protest’ raised safety concerns, but it also put public pressure on the condo management to act.
Management Finally Steps In
Following the incident, the condo management finally stepped in and issued fines of 10,000 baht (approx. S$395) to each resident found violating the pet ban.
They were also instructed to remove their animals from the premises.
The resident who released the snakes was no exception. According to Bangkok Post, they too were fined, received a formal written warning, and were ordered to remove the snakes, which have since been taken away.
