NDP 2022’s “Crying Man”, Mr Azuan Tan, acted in Season 1 of Incredible Tales as a Police Officer

In less than 24 hours, Mr Azuan Tan, a teacher and grassroots volunteer, has become an instantly recognisable face all across Singapore.

The cameraman who spotted Mr Azuan’s teary eyes admist a sea of thousands of attendees at the National Day Parade must be applauded for his eagle-eyed vision.

If not for his sharp instincts, we would not have an image that has taken Singapore by storm. The iconic image of the tears streaming down Mr Azuan’s cheeks even made its way to the social media feeds of our Deputy Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong.
