Footage released on Wednesday shows a convoy of armoured military vehicles and trucks carrying equipment, including air defence systems, travelling from Iraq into northeastern Syria.
The video shows the convoy moving along the M4 highway south of the city of Qamishli in the countryside of Hasakah governorate, heading towards the Qasrak base.
The base is considered one of the largest US military installations in Syria.
In January, US forces evacuated part of their military equipment from the Qasrak base amid reports that Washington was considering ending its military presence in Syria within a month.
Earlier this year, US troops also withdrew from the Al-Tanf and Al-Shaddadi bases, handing them over to forces affiliated with the Syrian transitional government’s Ministry of Defence, after more than a decade of US deployment in northern and eastern Syria as part of operations against Islamic State.
The latest convoy arrives amid heightened regional tensions following the recent US-Israeli military campaign against Iran.
