An ordinary ambulance journey on a highway in mainland India suddenly became a time that nobody among the family anticipated. What was to be a peaceful trip home by a woman who was believed to be nearing death proved to be a launch pad to an amazing recovery that amazed not only her family but also the doctors.

The lady, 50 years old Vineeta Shukla of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh had been hospitalized in Bareilly after having suddenly collapsed as part of housework. Physicians in that area scrutinized her case and apparently had hardly any evidence that her brain was alive. Her family was informed that the survival probabilities were very low.
The hospital later on discharged her because her condition did not improve. Her husband, Kuldeep Shukla, then took her to the ambulance to take her home. On February 24, in the course of the journey, relatives were already adjusting themselves to the worst.
A Sudden Shock on the Highway
As the ambulance drove through the Bareilly-Haridwar National Highway, something took place out of the blue. The vehicle had collided with a big hole on the road near the town of Hafizganj. The force of the impact was so severe as to create a very severe jolt which shook the ambulance.

Kuldeep claims that what came after that shock was totally unforeseen. He only a few seconds later saw that his wife seemed to start breathing again. Her breathing had been nearly choked and her pulse very feeble until that time.
Kuldeep knew that something was wrong, and so he quickly called his family members who were already in the business of making arrangements to put a dead body together. He requested them to get everything to halt as he took the ambulance to another medical facility.
Doctors Re-examine the Case
Vineeta was immediately taken to the Neurocity Hospital in Pilibhit, where the doctors decided to do another check up on her before commencing treatment. Neurosurgeon Dr. Rakesh Singh reported that the medical team had scrutinised the previous diagnosis of the Bareilly hospital.

The previous medical reports indicated that she had no brainstem reflexes and that her Glasgow Coma Scale was reduced to a low of three points. The normal score is 15 and this situation shows that she was absolutely unresponsive.
Physicians also discovered that her pupils were enlarged, a condition referred to as mydriasis, which commonly indicates severe injury upon the functioning of the brain.
Slow Reintegration into Consciousness.
Upon the completion of a series of tests, physicians at Neurocity Hospital found out that she had heavy amounts of neurotoxins in her blood and her lymphatic system. Immediately, treatment was initiated so as to correct the issue and stabilize her situation.
In subsequent days, she was getting better. The healthcare professionals were keeping a close eye on her as her body adapted to her treatment.
