Two Workers Found Alive
Rescuers continue to search deep inside a hydropower tunnel in central Nepal on Friday as two workers were pulled out alive, nine days after devastating floods tore through the Trishuli river valley.
Footage released on Friday shows rescue teams at the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station, Thulogaun, and one of the survivors being carried to safety.

The two men were found around 170 metres inside the tunnel after teams heard voices from beneath the debris, raising hopes that others could still be alive.

Search Continues For Workers
The 60-megawatt Upper Trishuli 3A project spans Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Specialist teams, including international tunnel experts, have been working to clear mud and boulders blocking access.
The August 26 disaster sent ice, rock, mud and floodwater surging through the Trishuli valley, smashing into several hydropower sites. Around 900 workers are reported missing across 12 projects, with roughly 500 believed to be trapped in tunnels.

Nepalese authorities said 1,252 bodies had been recovered, 4,216 people remained missing, and 11,993 had been rescued as of Thursday.
Disaster Also Hits China
The disaster also struck across the border in China, where authorities said 21 people had been confirmed dead and 541 remained missing at Gyirong Port.
