Taiwanese Actor Eng Chang-Fan Reportedly Finds Love In India After Meeting Hotel Employee

It seems the love story has become a social media frenzy, as fans are following the journey of Taiwanese actor and model Cheng Chang Fan and his Indian woman encounter at a hotel. But, in spite of the rise in online interest, neither one has made any official claim to being in a romantic relationship.

A meeting that started it all

The narration starts in 2025, when Cheng went to India and posted a video from a hotel. He was greeted with an aarti and tilak by the Indian female staff who was waiting at the reception, which is a customary gesture at some of the Indian hotels. Very shortly after the interaction, it seemed that Cheng was smiling at her in a friendly way, and it seemed that viewers were drawn towards what they thought was chemistry between the two.

The brief video quickly caught on the Internet, and users started to visualise how the awkward encounter might be more than it appeared. Fans began sharing their edits and posts of the pair, making this a popular moment to talk about online. There was no public confirmation at the time that the relationship was more than a first date from Cheng and the hotel employee.

The Reunion Brings Fans Back

A year later, another video in which Cheng and an Indian girl are seen fighting surfaced online. The reunion was reported to have been shared by Cheng on his Instagram Stories, but this story has not been seen in his Stories any longer. The woman was recognised by many of those watching the videos as the same hotel employee from the previous one.

The reunion video appeared to be the two of them together in a more familiar environment, sparking further speculation. Cheng reported that she included the line, ‘And just like that… I flew her across the world, straight into my arms’ in the caption. The fans read this as a clear indication that their relation after the initial meeting has continued.

Then Cheng sent a few photos to an Indian girl, together with a long message on Indian women and his experience in India. The post featured a portrait of their warmth, sincerity and emotional openness, and also of the woman’s face when he first met her at the hotel. From the first day he walked in the hotel, he noticed “that light in her eyes”, he wrote.

The photographs, the reunion video and a personal message from Cheng (shown below) made the story go viral again. People started calling it a real-life love story on social media, as neither Cheng nor the woman has explicitly stated that it’s a romance. The two have been reported as being tied up by romance rumours, not a confirmed couple.

Who Is Cheng Chang Fan?

Cheng Chang Fan is a Taiwanese actor and model hailing from Taipei, Taiwan. He is famous for his performance in Taiwanese drama Craving You in 2020 and his solo song Ain’t Nothing in 2022. He has also been rumoured to be connected to modelling for top fashion brands.

The identity of the Indian woman and what their relationship is is still being talked about online. The viral videos and Cheng’s posts have provided plenty to talk about, but there hasn’t been an official confirmation from either person that they are dating. This was then India’s short hotel greeting, and it has since become one of social media’s newest cross-cultural romance stories – but the end is yet to be confirmed.
