Vladimir Putin touched down in Beijing on Tuesday for landmark talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Footage shows Putin descending the aircraft ramp and shaking hands with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The video also captures the huge crowd of well-wishers waving Russian and Chinese flags and cheering.

The latest visit is scheduled for May 19-20.
Putin previously came on a state visit in 2024, while he and Xi visited each other’s countries for last year’s Victory Day events, marking 80 years since the end of WW2.

Putin and Xi are set to hold high-profile talks later, with the Russian leader also scheduled to meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss economic and strategic co-operation.
