A driver in Dongguan, a city in south China’s Guangdong Province, drew attention at a busy road intersection after opening his car trunk during a red light. Inside the trunk was a large fish, which he appeared eager to show to other drivers nearby. The moment was later recorded on a dashcam and shared online.

The short clip shows the car stopped in traffic with its trunk lifted high. A pink banner with Chinese characters was placed across the opening. According to a translation, the message read: “I caught it, pretty big, right?” The fish was clearly visible inside, placed across the trunk space.

Scene at the Intersection

The incident happened while vehicles were waiting at a red light. Cars and motorbikes were lined up along the road, and traffic was steady. The driver in front opened his trunk and left it raised, making the fish visible to others behind him.

A traffic police officer on a motorcycle soon approached from behind. The officer noticed the open trunk and stopped beside the vehicle. He stepped closer, looked inside briefly, and then pushed the trunk door down to close it.

Officer Responds Quickly

The officer did not appear to speak for long with the driver. After shutting the trunk, he returned to his motorcycle and continued his duties. The interaction lasted only a few seconds but was clearly captured in the video.

The driver remained inside the vehicle during the moment. It is not clear if any further action was taken after the clip ended. Local authorities have not released additional details about the case.

Video Gains Attention

The video spread quickly online after being shared by local media. Many viewers focused on the unusual act of displaying a fish in traffic. The timing of the officer’s arrival added to the interest in the clip.

Dongguan is known as an industrial city with busy roads and heavy traffic flow. Incidents like this are rare, especially involving drivers stopping to display personal items during traffic signals.

The short video continues to circulate online, showing a brief but unusual moment on a normal city road.
