Starting from a short video on social media, an exceptional initiative was born—“Cross Singapore Walk.” In a short video on Instagram, a Singaporean said, “Singapore is only 50 kilometers wide, so why not walk across the entire country?” This simple question aroused curiosity in the minds of many. Later, a full-day walking event was organized to turn that idea into a reality.

This walk, which will be held on April 4, 2026, has already become the center of discussion among young people. According to the information provided by the organizers, participants will be able to start their journey from two different locations, and the entire route will be about 40 to 45 kilometers long.
Start and Route
Two starting points have been set for this event, which allows participants to choose according to their convenience. The first group will start their journey from Hall 10 of Nanyang Technological University at 7 am. On the other hand, the second group will start the walk from Lakeside MRT Station at 8:45 am.

Then everyone will proceed along the coast-to-coast trail through Jurong Lake Gardens. The final destination is Coney Island Park, which is an area full of natural beauty. This route is expected to offer a mixed experience of city greenery and urban life.
Long Walk
This walk is not easy at all, as it is a long journey of about 13 to 15 hours. The endurance and physical fitness of the participants will play an important role here. However, the organizers have arranged breaks from time to time so that no one gets overly tired.

There will also be scheduled stops for water, food and rest. Through this long walk, the participants will get the opportunity to test their limits. As a result, it is not just an event, but also considered a personal challenge.
Preparation and Safety
The organizers have also given some important instructions for the participants so that the entire journey is safe. Everyone has been asked to carry at least 1 to 1.5 liters of water, and there will be opportunities to refill as needed. It is also recommended to carry comfortable shoes, light snacks and a power bank.

Keeping in mind the weather in Singapore, it is also mentioned to take an umbrella. Also, due to the proximity of the MRT line on the route, one can end the journey midway if they wish.
Attraction of the Experience
The biggest attraction of this event is its experience, which will bring something new to everyone. Crossing a country on foot in one day is a very rare and memorable thing. Many want to see it as a special moment in life.

Besides, it creates an opportunity to meet new people, which is also important from a social perspective. Therefore, this initiative is not limited to just walking, but rather it is a kind of different travel experience.
