Viral Trend Makes its Way to Singapore
A man in Singapore took on a rather unusual fitness challenge—making butter while going on a run.

In a video posted on 4 March by @praveent_ on Instagram and TikTok (@pravtoks), he documented his attempt at recreating a viral trend where runners churn butter simply by carrying cream as they jog.

The video was captioned:
“pov: your unemployed friend on a random Tuesday”
Turning a Joke into a Challenge
The video begins with him explaining how he came across multiple clips of people attempting the trend. After sharing one with his friends, one joked:
“Unemployed people, when running gets easy.”

Taking that as motivation, he decided to try it for himself.
However, there was one small issue—he couldn’t find heavy cream. Instead, he used double cream, noting that its higher fat content might actually make the process easier.
5.5km Later: Did it Actually Work?
He set off on his run with the cream packed and shaking along the way. At the 1km mark, he sounded optimistic:
“I feel like it’s moving really well at the back.”

But by 3km, doubts crept in.
“It’s very liquidy… maybe Singapore is just too hot for it.”

Despite the uncertainty, he pushed on. After completing a total of 5.5km, he returned home for the final check—and the taste test.
Taste Test Confirms Results
Back home, he opened the container and tested the result.
“I guess attempt one is successful.”

The experiment worked—meaning he wouldn’t have to attempt it again.
Netizens Amused, Curious, and Relieved
The video quickly drew amused and curious reactions from viewers.
One commenter shared:
“I saw someone attempting to make ice cream while running too”
The creator responded in disbelief:
“in Singapore??!!! that’s insane”

Others were more intrigued by the logistics.
“How many KM in sg heat to make butter 😂😂😂 I want to try”

He replied that time mattered more than distance, estimating around 25–30 minutes, ideally without direct sun.
Another user asked about his pace, to which he answered:
“6:45 min/km”

Some simply appreciated the effort:
“thanks for doing this leh i was so curious if it would work in SG but i dont want to run”

A Simple Concept Behind the Trend
While the challenge may sound unusual, it is rooted in a basic idea—continuous shaking of cream separates fat to form butter.
Similar experiments have surfaced online, including attempts to make ice cream while running.
A Sweaty Experiment that Paid Off
In Singapore’s humid weather, the odds didn’t seem ideal. But after 5.5km and plenty of movement, the experiment paid off.
For now, at least, one question has been answered:
yes, you can make butter while running—even in Singapore.
