Max Alexander is only 10 years old yet he has managed to do something that most adults can only dream of doing. He was the youngest designer who presented a collection at the Paris Fashion Week. His performance was on March 3 in the renowned Palais Garnier just a few days after his 10th birthday.

A Dream Begins Early

Max began to create clothes at the age of four years. Whilst other children were enjoying their time with toys, he was being taught how to sew and make dresses. Gradually, he became more passionate and he kept perfecting his skills annually. At eight years old, he had already presented his work in the New York Fashion Week.

His new set in Paris consisted of 15 different appeals. The designs were based on nature and flowers. Max said that approximately 90 percent of the materials that he used were sustainable. He used old cloth and materials as well as unused ones to make something new and beautiful with recycled materials.

Fashion With a Purpose

The outfits were also very creative. One of the dresses was created out of a French military parachute, and the other dress was created out of an old sari that he redesigned. His collection was unique due to these ideas and attracted the attention of numerous people in the fashion world.

The collection, Max said, had cost him some six months. Although he is a very young one, he was very attentive and patient during the process. It was a particularly special experience when he was watching his designs on the runway. He referred to the experience as a dream come true.

Looking Ahead

Another wish that Max has is that his work should inspire people. He is hopeful that people will start to consider reusing clothes and not necessarily purchasing the fast fashion. He not only aims at designing beautiful outfits but also making an impact.
