Popular Japanese Store Says Goodbye—Don Don Donki Downtown East’s Closing Sale

The Downtown East branch of Singapore’s popular Japanese discount chain Don Don Donki is closing. Earlier, a big closing-down sale was announced for customers. The store is offering up to 80 percent off selected products. In addition, many everyday products are offering discounts of up to 20 percent.

So many customers are flocking there to take advantage of the last shopping opportunity. Authorities said that the branch will officially close on 15 March, 2026.

Farewell Sale Announcement

Since the news of the closure of this outlet in Downtown East was released, the interest of customers has increased. The store is offering big discounts on various products. Especially frozen seafood, dry foods and various types of snacks are available at low prices. In addition, many daily market products are also on the discount list.

As a result, regular customers are coming to the store to stock up on essential items at the last chance. Many say that visiting this branch before it closes will be memorable.

Journey of the Japanese Brand

Don Don Donki is originally a popular discount store brand in Japan. Its original name was Don Quijote. The brand started its journey in Japan in 1980. Later, it quickly expanded across the country and became popular for its various products.

When it entered the international market, the brand was known as ‘Don Don Donki’. After that, its branches started opening in various Asian countries.

Popularity in Singapore

The first Don Don Donkey store in Singapore opened in 2017. At that time, the first branch was opened in Orchard Central. From the beginning, it was a hit among the locals. Because various types of Japanese food and products are easily available here.

Due to its rapid popularity, new branches were opened in different areas of the city. Some outlets are even open 24 hours a day, so that customers can shop at any time.

Don Don Donkey is mainly known for its various types of Japanese products. The store offers everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to meat and seafood. There are also snacks, desserts and various types of drinks.
