Police later launched an investigation into the incident and arrested two female workers at the daycare center. Authorities said the incident is being investigated as a murder, and a detailed investigation is underway.

Rescued in an Unconscious State

Police said the child was brought to the hospital unconscious early in the morning of 9 March. He was quickly taken to the emergency department of Seberang Jaya Hospital. Doctors performed CPR for about an hour to save the child. However, all efforts failed and he was eventually declared dead.

Upon receiving the news of the incident, the police arrived at the hospital and started a preliminary investigation. At the same time, the child’s body was sent for an autopsy.

Mother’s Workplace

It is learned that the child’s mother is a nurse and works at the same hospital. She was working the night shift on the night of the incident. So she left her four-month-old child at the 24-hour daycare center inside the hospital.

This center is open to support hospital staff. Usually, there are arrangements to keep the children of the staff safe here. However, this incident has raised questions about that safety.

Two Workers Detained

The police have detained two female workers of the daycare center after the incident. They are said to be about 22 years old. The court has granted them a seven-day remand to assist in the investigation. The police believe that they may be involved in the incident. Therefore, they are being questioned. In addition, CCTV footage is also being examined.

Family Grief
