The normally posh streets of Beverly Hills were all abuzz with police action on Sunday afternoon following reports of gunshots by the residence of international pop singer Rihanna.
Police report that a 35 year old woman has been arrested in relation to the scary incident that immediately attracted national publicity.
Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department reported that a number of shots were used toward the luxury mansion of the singer at about 1:15 p. m. local time.
Neighbors spread word about the loud sound of gunshots in the otherwise peaceful neighborhood, and officers came to the rescue. Although the scenario was quite alarming, police reported that no one in the house was hurt.
Celebrity Home is Nixed with bullets.
The suspect was later identified by the police as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz. She was arrested and currently under suspicion of attempted murder. Police claim that the woman supposedly shot an AR-15-like rifle through a moving car when passing in front of the property.
The investigators discovered a number of assault-rifle shell casings around the scene, which allowed substantiating the fact that a strong weapon had been employed.
One of the law enforcement sources said that at the time of the shooting, Rihanna was thought to be inside the home. However, there was no harm to anyone within the household. The officers soon closed the venue to make sure that there was no further threat to the residents or the neighbors residing around.
Suspect Chased in Vehicle.
Following the shooting, the police started searching the car belonging to the suspect. The incident was later found when a white Tesla, which was associated with it, was found approximately eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center. The woman was arrested without any additional incident by officers.
It is reported that the suspect might have been on his way out of the state of Florida with an origin of Orlando. But the investigators are yet to justify why she intended to attack the home of the singer.
The police indicate that the motive of the attack is not absolutely clear and the case is still being examined.
An International Celeb in the Limelight.
The incident has once again put Rihanna in the headlines. Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born in Barbados and gained world fame in the early 2000s with popular hits like the song Pon de Replay and Umbrella.
She has over the years emerged to be among the most successful entertainers in the music industry winning numerous awards and has also established a strong business empire.
The singer has also achieved success in other ventures that include her beauty brand Fenty Beauty and is also known to be a beauty brand today. Reports by Forbes, show that her wealth has increased to over one billion dollars.
