Spokesperson for Iran’s joint army and Revolutionary Guard co-ordination centre Ebrahim Zolfaghari reported strikes on ’60 strategic targets’ and ‘500 military points of America and Israel’, speaking on Monday.
“[We] have so far set a new standard, exceeding the total of the 12-day war, in just the past 48 hours, by firing more than 700 drones and hundreds of ballistic missiles and defeating our enemies in interception,” he went on.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters serves as a co-ordination centre between the regular army and the Revolutionary Guard, and also oversees the planning of major military operations.
The US confirmed the deaths of six military personnel at time of publication.
The US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday morning. Tehran said it was responding with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with explosions reported in countries right across the Gulf region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on Saturday. It comes after a number of rounds of talks between the Americans and Iranians.
