A US F-15 fighter jet was seen coming down over Kuwait on Monday – as the Kuwaiti army reported that ‘several’ had crashed.
“The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence stated that several U.S. military aircraft crashed this morning, confirming the complete safety of their crews,” the Kuwaiti army X account reported.
Some media reports suggested ‘friendly fire’ but it was not confirmed if it was an Iranian missile, ‘friendly’ US air defence rockets or technical malfunction.
Donald Trump confirmed three soldiers killed and five injured in a statement on Sunday.
The US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday morning. Tehran said it was responding with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with strikes reported in countries right across the Gulf region.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on Saturday. It comes after a number of rounds of talks between the Americans and Iranians.
