Zero Room for Clothes: Man’s Japan Suitcase Is 100% Instant Noodles and Sambal
Facebook

A young Malaysian man’s thread post about preparing for a trip to Japan has sparked a huge discussion on social media. While people usually pack winter clothes or essentials when traveling abroad, he has filled his entire luggage with instant noodles and Malaysian dry food. He shared some photos taken before the trip online.

There, it can be seen that suitcases full of Maggi, sambal, snacks and various dry foods have been arranged. In the post, he jokingly asked if it was normal to take so much food for 10 days in Japan, or if it was a bit too much. Since then, the issue has become a topic of debate among netizens.

Different Preparations

At first, many were surprised by his unusual packing. Usually, travelers are interested in trying the food of the destination country. However, this young man seemed to want to take the entire trip’s food from his own country. It can be clearly seen in the picture that only instant noodles are kept in a large part of the suitcase.

In addition, there was also an adequate amount of sambal and various Malaysian dry foods. As a result, many people think that he did not want to give up familiar tastes even when going abroad.

Netizens’ Questions

After the post went viral, many netizens questioned his decision. According to them, since Japan is famous for its delicious food, including ramen, it is unnecessary to carry so many instant noodles when going there. Some pointed out that one of the purposes of traveling is to enjoy the food and culture of a new country.

On the other hand, many feel that taking so much food can limit the travel experience. Their statements indicate that it is more reasonable to try local food when traveling abroad. As a result, differences of opinion on the matter become clear.

Voice of Support

However, along with criticism, some netizens also spoke in favor of the young man. According to them, he may have done so thinking of saving money or ensuring halal food. On the other hand, some users saw it as a fun and harmless preparation.

According to them, traveling is a personal matter, and it is up to each person to decide how to prepare. As a result, the discussion is still going on online.
