A 10km Walk for Vegetables
On 18 January, a TikTok creator based in Singapore, known online as @patchoulipearl, shared a video of her ‘10km hike’ to buy groceries directly from a farm.
In her caption, she wrote that she “hiked 10km to get groceries fresh from the farm 🌽🍅🍆🫑🌱🌶️🥬🧄.”

The video opens with clips from her long walk, before cutting to a roadside signboard that reads:
KOK FAH
18 SUNGEI TENGAH ROAD
WEEKEND MARKET SAT & SUN 9AM–5PM
周末蔬菜市场
She added a short caption over the clip: “opens only on the weekends”.
Inside the Farm Grounds
The next scene shows the entrance of Kok Fah Technology Farm Pte Ltd, followed by glimpses of what visitors encounter inside the grounds.

One clip features an aviary with silkie chickens and a sulphur-crested cockatoo, which she noted “always says hello to me.” This is followed by shots of turkeys and pigeons, before the video moves into a small greenhouse area topped with a banner reading “Kok Fah’s Showcase Greenhouse.”

She then pans across the farm’s weekend market, showing fresh produce such as corn, radishes, spinach, mint and carrots. Another clip shows her shopping cart — captioned “my grocery haul” — filled with tomatoes, peppers, cauliflower, radish and assorted leafy greens.

The video also includes moments of her admiring peanut plants and filming some of the largest gourds.

The final clip shows her heading home on foot again, captioned simply: “walked back home with two full bags of groceries :).”
Viewers React: “how to walk leh”
The video sparked curiosity among viewers, many of whom were impressed — and slightly concerned — by the journey.
One commenter asked bluntly:
“how to walk leh”

The creator replied candidly:
“i walked from my hse but not for the faint hearted cos there are cars and lorries zooming past and no proper path to walk!”
Another viewer asked if the effort paid off financially:
“is it cheaper?”

She responded:
“it’s fresher and the some veges are slightly cheaper!”
Others were simply inspired by the idea, with one comment reading:
“Wait this is such a good idea!! You’re so clever!!!”

Her reply was encouraging:
“you should definitely pay a visit kekeke 😍”
About Kok Fah Technology Farm
Kok Fah Technology Farm is a family-operated local farm, existing for more than 30 years since its establishment at 18 Sungei Tengah Road Singapore. The farm operates its weekend market every Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 5pm to sell freshly harvested vegetables and selected imported produce and dried goods. Dedicated customers frequent the store for the farm’s fresh greens.

The farm operates guided tours which visitors can take to explore its facilities. Through this, visitors will receive access to their hydroponics greenhouse, an aloe vera demonstration, a small lettuce sample pack and their homegrown honey aloe vera drink. The farm grounds also feature a mini animal area and sheltered seating spaces suitable for picnics.
Farm Tours and Hands-on Activities
From 2026, Kok Fah Technology Farm has introduced additional tour add-on activities as part of its guided farm experiences. The activities involve hands-on learning through microgreen potting and hydroponic harvesting and herb planting and soil harvesting and mini terrarium building and succulent potting and salad tasting and mini vegetable farm creation.

The activities run for 20 to 30 minutes and families, schools, corporate groups, and senior citizens can participate in them. The sessions require advance booking for participation.
For @patchoulipearl, the long walk was clearly worth it — not just for the vegetables, but for the experience itself. And judging by the comments, she may have convinced a few others to consider skipping the supermarket aisle for a farm visit instead.
