The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested two teenagers for allegedly performing a dangerous motorcycle stunt on Jalan Tun Raza in Kuala Lumpur. The matter came to the attention of law enforcement after a 14-second video of the incident, which took place in the early hours of January 30, went viral on social media later In the video, a motorcyclist is seen performing a ‘wheelie’ stunt, and the teenager sitting on the back, wearing a helmet, is seen driving very close to the road with his head down.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident took place between 3:30 am and 4 am. Later, based on secret investigations and intelligence information, the police conducted a raid. Finally, they were arrested in the early hours of February 9.
Arrested in a Secret Raid
Zamzuri Isa, head of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, said the suspects were arrested at separate locations in the Sungai Buloh area in Selangor. The 18-year-old motorcyclist was arrested at around 2 am. On the other hand, the 15-year-old rear passenger was arrested at 2:30 am.

According to the police, the operation was conducted after a few days of surveillance and information collection. The black Yamaha 135LC FI motorcycle used during the arrest has also been seized. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them.
Legal proceedings and investigation
Police said that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. This section provides for punishment for reckless and dangerous driving. Investigators are collecting full details of the incident.

In addition, the authenticity of the video and other relevant evidence is also being verified. If necessary, more witnesses may be questioned. The public has been urged to help with information.
Call to Parents
ACP Zamzuri has issued a warning to parents and guardians. He said that it is important to monitor the activities and use of motorcycles by teenagers. They should be especially aware of going out during the early hours of the morning. Besides, the role of the family is important in preventing the youth from illegal racing or risky stunts.
