Malaysian Woman Says Argument With JPJ Officer Led to Failed Driving Test, Second Try Went Smoothly

A Malaysian woman’s dramatic recount of her driving test experience with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has drawn widespread attention online after she shared how a dispute over road markings and an argument with a JPJ officer affected her result

The woman, who posted her story on a social platform, said her first attempt at the JPJ practical driving test began normally. She approached the final turn confidently, but faded road markings made the correct lane unclear. As a result, she turned slightly earlier — a move that drew immediate criticism from the examining officer.

A faded Road Marking is a Pain.

When the woman arrived at the last intersection the marking of the road was extremely faint, she noticed. It was due to this that she turned a little to the left earlier than on a normal occasion.

She says that the JPJ officer told her at once that she entered the emergency lane. The officer, without much ado, told her that she had failed the test.

The woman attempted to tell her that the road line was nearly invisible. The officer acknowledged that the marking was lost, but she argued that she was already familiar with the road and was supposed to be the same with the candidate.

The Argument that Changed Everything.

The woman was confused and she wanted to know whether she had committed the error or the road conditions had caused the error. The officer responded to it by saying that it was the fault of the woman since she did not know the route.

The situation became tense. Later the woman acknowledged that she had lost her temper and made an angry remark to the authorities. That was the instant which killed her test, and she was a failure at the moment.Reflectively, she laughed at it, but then the position at that moment was frustrating and shocking.

Second Trying, other Atmosphere.

The second driving test was a very different story. The test was administered by two JPJ male officers this time round and it was done near Friday prayers.

The directions were brief and to the point. The officer replied saying that she knew what to do and that she should not make any changes and simply strap the seatbelt on and begin driving.

She was instructed to pull up at the first traffic light and proceed with her driving.

An Unexpected Ending

Later into the test, the officer remarked that her driving was okay. He went on to enquire how she had failed the first test.

She recounted the events that occurred and when she said that the officer laughed and casually informed her that she had already passed. The exam was soon over and she was surprised and relieved.

Since she posted her story on the internet, most Malaysians reported that they too could relate to her, which demonstrates how JPJ tests may be extremely different to this or that person.
