Police have arrested two young men for allegedly behaving indecently inside a car parked in a crowded area in Kuala Lumpur. The incident occurred late last Friday night, 30 January, when the police were on a regular crime prevention patrol. The police searched the car after noticing suspicious behavior. The two men were then taken into custody.

When the incident spread on social media, there was widespread discussion and reaction. Law enforcement officials said that the matter would be resolved through legal proceedings.
Police Operation
Sentul district police chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno said that at around 2 am, police officers on patrol noticed unusual movements inside the car. During the search, used tissues were found in the back seat of the car, which is believed to be related to the incident. Police confirmed the identities of both men and also checked the car.

Initially, they did not have any prior criminal records. However, action was taken against them based on their confessions.
Legal Proceedings
The two young men arrested are 29 and 24 years old, respectively, and are said to be salespeople by profession. They were taken to the Jinzhang Police Station, and an investigation was started. Later, they were remanded for three days with the permission of the court.

After the remand, they were released on bail. The case is under investigation under Section 377A of the Penal Code. Police said that further action will be taken after the investigation is completed.

According to them, excessive work pressure sometimes affects people’s behavior. On the other hand, many presented the matter sarcastically and highlighted the importance of social decency and public behavior.
