What Happened on Pattaya Beach
Police detained a British man and a 61-year-old Thai woman after they were caught engaging in a sexual act on Pattaya Beach during the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred on 23 January 2026, just metres from a local police station. Members of the public alerted authorities at around 4:19am.

Bystanders reported seeing the act in full view of passers-by, prompting officers to intervene. Both individuals were taken into custody at the scene and brought to a local police station for questioning.
Who was Involved and What was Claimed
The man was identified as British national Euripides Loucaides, 34, who appeared heavily intoxicated at the time of arrest. Police said he was unable to give coherent answers during initial questioning and claimed his passport was missing.

The woman, identified in local reports as Nutcharee, told authorities she did not realise the act was illegal under Thai law. She also claimed to be a Singaporean citizen residing in Thailand for her studies, according to local media reports.

However, regular beachgoers and local residents disputed her claims, describing her as a transient individual frequently seen in the area. Some witnesses also told local media that she appeared mentally unstable.
Evidence, Charges and Penalties
According to Thai media reports, the pair were caught on video during the act, and police said photographic evidence from witnesses supported the allegations. While both initially denied wrongdoing, authorities classified the case as a violation of public order and public indecency laws.

Police confirmed that both individuals face administrative fines of up to 5,000 baht (about RM660). Authorities added that patrols would continue in popular tourist areas following repeated complaints of indecent behaviour along Pattaya’s beachfront.
