The elite Long Reef Golf Club, located in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney, Australia, faced an unexpected incident on 16 January, Friday afternoon. More than 30 teenagers entered the golf course on e-bikes and rode across the green. They jumped over the grass mounds and created chaos in the entire area.

The incident is said to have occurred shortly after 12 pm. Although the police were called after the golf players complained, the group left the area by then. The video of the incident quickly spread on social media.
Viral Video Controversy
The footage of the incident was first shared by the neighboring Cromer Golf Club. They expressed their anger with the video and wrote that there is a question of whether these young people understand the cost of rebuilding the golf green. As the video was shared again, a heated debate started online.
A group of netizens said that children were told to stay away from screens all the time, and were criticized when they played outside. Others believe it was just old-fashioned fun. Others have called the incident completely irresponsible.
Authorities’ Response
Long Reef Golf Club authorities said that although the damage was not too great, the operation was severely disrupted. According to them, a few instigators had taken the whole situation out of control. Local independent MP Jacqui Scruby expressed deep concern about the incident.

She said that entering without permission and damaging public property was in no way acceptable. At the same time, she also highlighted the recent e-bike accidents. According to her, such incidents prove the need for stricter controls.
Safety Concerns
The incident comes amid renewed discussions about the deaths of several teenagers in e-bike accidents in Australia. Last weekend, a 17-year-old teenager was seriously injured in Victoria. Earlier, a 15-year-old teenager lost his life in Tasmania.

Experts say many e-bikes are illegally modified and travel at extremely high speeds, putting the lives of both drivers and pedestrians at risk. They called for a more responsible role for parents and the government.
