Visitors attending CES 2026 in Las Vegas were surprised by an unexpected cultural moment on the show floor. Known for serious technology displays and detailed product demonstrations, the event suddenly felt festive when robots appeared dressed as traditional lion dancers.

The performance quickly drew attention and became one of the most talked-about moments of the exhibition.

The performers were robots developed by Booster Robotics , a Chinese robotics company specialising in humanoid and legged machines. The company focuses on building robots designed for movement, balance, and real-world interaction. The robots moved smoothly across the floor, catching the attention of visitors nearby.

Robots Built for Movement

Booster Robotics is known in the robotics industry for creating agile machines that can walk, run, and perform coordinated actions. Unlike many display robots that remain still during exhibitions, these machines are designed to move naturally. At CES 2026, the company chose to show these abilities in a creative way rather than through technical explanations.

Instead of a standard technology showcase, the robots were dressed in colourful lion dance costumes. Their movements followed the rhythm of a traditional performance, showing balance, timing, and coordination. The robots worked together as a team, just like human lion dance performers.

Tradition on a Modern Stage

The lion dance is a traditional performance often seen during Chinese New Year celebrations. Bringing it to CES created a strong contrast between ancient culture and modern robotics.

The performance stood out among rows of screens, devices, and machines, offering something visually different and easy to understand for visitors from around the world.

Many attendees paused to watch the robots as they moved across the exhibition space. Phones were raised, and short clips were recorded as the performance continued. The mix of culture and technology made the moment memorable without relying on technical terms or complex explanations.

A Lighter Moment At CES

CES is usually described as serious and specification-heavy, with companies focusing on innovation, performance, and future plans.

This robot lion dance offered a lighter atmosphere and showed another side of technology. It reminded visitors that machines can also be expressive and entertaining.

As videos continued to circulate online, many people joked that Chinese New Year had arrived early in Las Vegas. While CES 2026 featured many important technology announcements, the dancing robots from Booster Robotics became a standout moment, showing how culture and innovation can meet on the same stage.
