A religious school teacher in Batu Pahat, Johor, has been remanded for seven days for allegedly ordering two female students to undress. According to the complaint, he repeatedly behaved indecently with the minor student in the name of punishment.

After the matter came to light, anger arose among the guardians and locals. Police said that considering the seriousness of the complaint, an urgent investigation is being carried out.
Incident Details
According to the police report, the first incident took place in 2023, and the second last year. The victims claimed that the teacher tied a handkerchief over their eyes and ordered them to undress as a ‘punishment.’

One student said that she had to face this inhuman punishment after food was spilled on the dining table. Another student said that such incidents had happened to her more than once and that the teacher would call her to a room alone and behave like this. Both said that they were forbidden to tell anyone about the incidents.
Police Operation and Remand
On November 25, Magistrate Nuraisidah A Rahman ordered the suspected teacher to be remanded for seven days. The accused is 29 years old and has been teaching at the same school for a long time. He was arrested on November 24, the day after a complaint was filed at the Batu Pahat district police headquarters.

The investigation is underway under Section 14(A) of Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Police said the investigation may be expanded further considering the statements of the students, the nature of the incident, and previous allegations.
Psychological Impact On Victims
Psychologically, such incidents can have a negative impact on children’s confidence, trust and sense of security in the long term. Victims say that they were instructed not to tell anyone about this incident
