A video of a Pennsylvania nursing student’s car accident has taken Instagram by storm. Penn State University student Kaitlynn McCutchen was singing Britney Spears’ popular song Baby One More Time on her phone.
The video shows her car suddenly losing control, skidding on the road and flipping over. What’s especially surprising is that she was singing “Hit me baby one more time” just seconds before the accident—and then the car actually “hit” itself. At the end, she is seen trying to capture the camera from inside the overturned car.

The Moment Of The Accident
In the video, the car suddenly veers to the left during the song. The car quickly starts to skid due to the wet road. In an instant, the car loses control and flips over several times. Inside, Caitlin can be seen flailing her arms and legs in panic. Many people expressed surprise, as the video looked like a scene from a movie.

McCutchen’s Explanation
McCutchen said she wasn’t using her phone—she was just singing with the camera set up. She was driving within the speed limit and didn’t have her phone in her hand—she just set up the camera, which she had done before.

The slope made it impossible to straighten the car, otherwise the accident could have been avoided. She said she used to sing and make videos like this before. She is fine except for the concussion and some bruises. The incident has taught her to be more careful in the future.
Social Media Reactions
The video got over 87 million views and numerous comments on her instagram video. Many people have expressed surprise and disdain after watching the video. Some said that flipping a car alone was a kind of ‘special skill’.

Others commented that the incident was so cinematic that it was impossible not to be amazed.
Many others said that it was as if nature itself showed them that the lines of the song would become so real. Many expressed relief in the end that Kaitlyn survived without major injuries.
