“Usual Saturday for me”: Woman in Viral Food Court Video Uses Clip to Promote Upcoming Concert

Kira Peace Responds — and Promotes Her Next Gig

When most people face online backlash, they lay low. This is not the case with Kira Peace. The 20-year-old New Zealand-born performer decided to turn online attention into publicity.

Yesterday, the singer reposted the viral food court clip — where she’s seen strutting across table-level platforms mid-song — on her Instagram and TikTok accounts. But instead of addressing the outrage, she doubled down, using it to promote her upcoming concert.

“I don’t know what kind of food courts you guys have been going to,” she says at the start of the clip. “But like, this is a usual Saturday for me.”

Moments later, she adds: “I’m gonna be doing it again, Saturday, November 29th, at my concert. Thank you, SG Daily. And things are gonna get a lot more crazy than just singing and dancing on the table.”

The video ends with her directing viewers to her bio for ticket links.

Before this, she posted a video with a viral audio that said, ‘Yup, that’s me…’

Clip Was Taken Months Ago

While Kira’s repost gave the impression the performance was recent, local media outlet Stomp’s follow-up revealed that the video wasn’t new.

According to a spokesperson speaking to the outlet, the incident took place on 7 August. Security was dispatched, but by the time they arrived, the singer had already left.

The original clip had resurfaced online on 30 October, shared by SG Daily, where it amassed thousands of views and hundreds of comments. From there, it spread to Reddit, where users debated whether her antics were permitted — and whether she had stepped on tables meant for eating.

Internet Reacts

Singaporeans are known for their creative commentary, and this case was no different.

A mix of disbelief and mild amusement spread online.

But not everyone was upset. Some defended her for “bringing life” to the food court scene, saying:

“It’s ok to be crazy if you’re hot.”

One Redditor also pointed out that Kira had previously been seen performing at Clarke Quay Central, suggesting that spontaneous live shows might be part of her regular routine.

Performance or Public Nuisance?

As debates rage online, opinions vary slightly between those who see it as quirky street art and those who see it as unhygienic and disrespectful.

Some users noted that the “tables” she was walking on appeared to be raised dividers, not actual eating surfaces — but that didn’t stop netizens from voicing disgust at the sight of boots near food.

Still, Kira appears unfazed. The singer — who’s been active in Singapore’s live scene since her viral breakout in 2022 — has faced her fair share of backlash before.
