Haaland Goes Full Joker, Frightens Locals (and Possibly Defenders)
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has always terrified defenders. This Halloween, he expanded his range — to civilians at petrol stations.

The 25-year-old striker turned heads and triggered camera flashes when he stepped out dressed as The Joker, complete with slick green hair, purple suit, and the iconic smirk from Heath Ledger’s The Dark Knight.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Haaland was seen getting his makeup done by professional artists before taking his 6-foot-5 frame out for a stroll — terrifyingly in character. One startled shopper could be heard saying, “Is that Haaland? That is actually mad!” while another gasped, “Are you the Man City boy?”

Haaland seemed delighted by the chaos he caused, smiling that chilling Joker grin all the way.
Spooktacular Streets: Woodgrove, Singapore’s Halloween Heart
While Haaland was haunting petrol stations in Europe, Singaporeans were out in force at Woodgrove Estate. That’s where the city-state’s famous Halloween event returned for its 18th year.

According to The New Age Parents, started in 2007 by just 30 residents, the Woodgrove Halloween celebration has become a full-blown community festival — complete with street closures, themed houses, and thousands of trick-or-treaters.

A video on TikTok by user @/1ricegrain showed families from across the island in costumes ranging from adorable to downright spooky.

Streets glowed with pumpkins and cobwebs, and homeowners transformed their porches into haunted mini-worlds.
It’s one of the few places in Singapore where trick-or-treating feels genuine. The residents themselves fund the whole thing: security, decorations, permits — all out of community spirit.

Videos from this year’s event showed children being handed candy, teenagers in costumes also collecting candy by the bagful, and others fitting into amusing inflatable dinosaur suits.

Organisers reminded visitors to be respectful — after all, it’s still a residential area — but the overall vibe was pure joy. In a year of global heaviness, Woodgrove managed to deliver something simple: fun, unity, and a whole lot of sugar.
The Big Apple’s Big Parade: Creativity on Full Display
Across the world, New York City’s Village Halloween Parade turned the streets into an explosion of colour, sound, and sheer weirdness.

Marking its 52nd year, the parade drew more than 80,000 participants and 2 million spectators. This year’s theme — “Potluck” — celebrated abundance and the city’s grand marshal, City Harvest, which feeds hungry New Yorkers.

A video by TikTok user @/shwetharamanna showed archers dressed as everything from giant sushi rolls to zombie John Lennons danced down Sixth Avenue, joined by the iconic giant puppets that have been part of the parade since its early days in 1973.

“It’s all about imagination and connection,” said art teacher James Haggerty, decked out in fake blood and feathers. “When you put that together in the middle of New York with the way New Yorkers are, you just get magic.”

The spectacle ended with The Vampire Ball after-party in Brooklyn — because, obviously, vampires need somewhere to recharge after four hours of dancing in 5°C wind.
Spooky Spirit, Shared Worldwide
From Woodlands to the West Village, Halloween 2025 proved that the spooky season transcends geography.
In Thailand, a video surfaced of women riding in the back of a pickup truck, faces painted with movie-grade horror makeup, waving at pedestrians who alternated between cheering and running. In New York, a zombie Thriller troupe kept the crowd dancing. And in Singapore, candy and community brought joy and a festive atmosphere.
