Proposal Plan Gone Wrong
What was supposed to be a romantic proposal in Taiwan turned into an unexpected arrest. A 29-year-old man, surnamed Huang, had prepared a surprise proposal for his girlfriend.
However, before he could carry out the plan, he ended up in police custody instead.
Illegal Parking Led to Police Inspection
According to local reports, the incident happened on June 8, 2025, around midnight, when Huang and his girlfriend stopped by a cold noodle shop in Songshan District.
He had parked his car illegally nearby, which drew police attention after a public complaint about several cars blocking the road.
Police Found Drugs Inside the Car
When officers approached his Mercedes-Benz, they noticed Huang behaving suspiciously. Upon inspection, they found a straw with traces of white powder in the car’s central armrest.
Refused to Cooperate, Tries to Attack Police
Huang refused to cooperate with the police and even attempted to attack them.
He was quickly subdued on the ground, where he admitted to using ketamine.

Prior Criminal Records and Further Discovery
Police later discovered that Huang had prior criminal records involving firearms, narcotics, and organized crime.
It is reported that the evidence seized from the car was handed over for further investigation under Taiwan’s Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act.

Proposal Banner Revealed and Shared Online
As officers searched the vehicle, they opened the boot and found the “Marry Me” banner hanging inside, revealing Huang’s intended plan to propose.

His girlfriend, who had been standing by during the incident, was left stunned as the scene unfolded.
Photos of the car with the banner were later shared online by bystanders, where they quickly spread and fueled public discussion.
