Taking Shelter from the Storm
While delivering food in Henan, China, a mother and her young son were suddenly caught in a heavy rainstorm.
Soaked from the downpour and still needing to finish her order, she decided to stop by a nearby police station for help.
Inside, she explained the situation to officers and asked if they could watch over her child while she completed the delivery. Before stepping out, she comforted her little boy, assuring him she would return soon.
A Gentle Act of Care
According to the video posted by China Focus, the officers quickly noticed the child’s clothes were soaked from the rain.
The female officer carefully removed the wet clothing, while a male officer placed the garment in front of a fan, hanging the shirt on a chair to dry.
The female officer then brought out a set of dry clothes and helped the boy put them on.
Feeling warmer and more comfortable, the child soon drifted off to sleep. Later, the female officer lifted him and held him gently until his mother arrived.
When she returned from completing her delivery, the mom woke her son and thanked the officers, even apologizing for any trouble caused.

Footage of the moment spread across social media, with many people expressing how touched they were by the officers’ kindness.
Some recalled how warmly children are treated in China, sharing that strangers often let parents move ahead in queues or give kids small gifts like sweets or ice cream.
Others commented that this story reflected their own encounters with police in the country, noting that while there can be exceptions, many officers are known for treating both locals and foreigners with respect and care.
