A routine animal rescue turned into a heart-stopping moment for one Malaysian firefighter after a wild boar charged at him during an attempted relocation.
In a video that has been making its rounds online, the firefighter is seen cautiously approaching the boar with what looks like a long stick.
Boar lunges, Firefighter falls
Just as he inched closer, the boar suddenly charged.
The firefighter tried to retreat but slipped and fell hard onto his back. With the animal right in front of him, he raised his legs in self-defense.
Teammates Quickly Jumps In
Other firefighters at the scene rushed to his aid, using sticks to drive the boar back. Their intervention gave their fallen teammate enough time to get up and move away.
No Injuries Reported, Netizens React
Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt. The video gained traction on social media, sparking a flurry of reactions from netizens who had a lot to say about the firefighter’s close call:
“That firefighter should’ve used a net like those fishing ones and thrown it over the wild boar in the forest, easier to catch it without it charging at you.”
“They should have used a big net to catch him, his long teeth are dangerous..”
“BABI! First time it feels justified to curse.”
“No matter what kind of pig it is, they just love to charge, don’t they?”
