Flight delays can happen for various reasons, from weather conditions to technical problems.
However, passengers on a Houston-to-Phoenix flight saw an unusual and disturbing delay when a woman suddenly stripped naked and caused chaos before takeoff on Monday, March 3, 2025.

The incident forced Southwest Airlines Flight 733 to return to the gate, delaying its departure by over an hour.
Passenger Screams, Hits Plane Before Undressing
Shortly after the plane took off at Houston’s Hobby Airport, a female passenger walked to the front of the cabin and began yelling, according to reports.
She demanded to get off the plane and yelled that she was bipolar. Passengers recalled that she hit parts of the plane, jumped up and down, and screamed.
As the situation escalated, she removed all her clothing and walked naked up and down the aisle, screaming, alarming fellow passengers, including children.
Physical Confrontation with Crew and Cockpit Incident
At one point, the woman rubbed herself against a female flight attendant, according to KPNX Arizona. She then pounded on the cockpit door, demanding to be let in.
Pilot Returns to Gate, Woman Runs Off
With the situation escalating, the pilot decided to return to the gate. Upon arrival, an airline worker boarded and attempted to cover the woman with a blanket.

However, as soon as the aircraft door opened, she ran off the plane.
Woman Detained, Taken for Psychiatric Evaluation
At 3:30 p.m., the Houston Police Department received a call about the incident.
Officers detained the woman and transported her to the NeuroPsychiatric Center at Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital for evaluation, according to NBC News.
Authorities later confirmed that no charges were filed against her.
Southwest Airlines Responds; Flight Resumes After Delay
Southwest Airlines issued a statement confirming that law enforcement met Flight 733 after it returned to the gate due to a “customer situation onboard.”
“Local law enforcement met flight 733 from Houston (Hobby) to Phoenix Monday afternoon after it returned to the gate due to a customer situation onboard,” a Southwest spokesperson told USA TODAY.
The flight, initially scheduled to depart at 2:55 p.m., was delayed for 1 hour and 37 minutes before taking off at 4:32 p.m. The plane then landed in Phoenix at 6:20 p.m.
