Sean King, a British YouTuber behind the channel @/SeanKing5150 or @/imgoingin, is known for exploring abandoned locations across Asia and documenting his experiences.
His content features visits to deserted hotels, water parks, and other forgotten attractions, showcasing the eerie realities of these neglected spaces.
The Haunting Reality of Phuket Zoo’s Closure
In June 2023, King ventured into the now-abandoned Phuket Zoo, which had closed in 2021 due to financial difficulties exacerbated by the pandemic.
Although reports had indicated that the remaining animals were relocated to sanctuaries, King discovered a different reality.
King was shocked to find that some animals, including crocodiles, were still present at the zoo.
Phuket Zoo had long been criticized for its treatment of animals, with PETA describing it as “hell on Earth” before its closure.
While the zoo’s closure was supposed to end this controversial chapter, King’s exploration revealed that some creatures had been left behind.
A Startling Discovery Among the Ruins
While exploring the overgrown, crumbling grounds of the abandoned zoo, King came across a pool that looked strangely untouched.
Peering into the murky water, he tossed something in to test his hunch—and was stunned to discover he wasn’t alone. A dozen crocodiles were still lurking in the water.
The sight of them startled him even more. He quickly realized that this was no longer a simple exploration—it was far more dangerous than he’d imagined.
Shaken, he decided to leave the area, no longer finding the situation amusing.
More Than Just Crocodiles Left Behind
King didn’t stop there. As he ventured deeper into the zoo, he came across a lone tiger and a herd of deer.
The tiger seemed to have been recently fed, as King found an icebox with sausages nearby. Seeing the tiger in that condition left him upset and angry.

He couldn’t help but feel that the situation was wrong and expressed how outrageous it was that the animal had been left behind in such circumstances.
A Call for Action
King’s video quickly went viral, with many viewers expressing their shock and urging for action.
One commenter said, “Absolutely heartbreaking. I truly hope someone who is able to help these animals sees this.”
Another viewer stated, “I hope you have contacted some rescues to help these poor animals! That’s so sad.”
King’s footage reignited the conversation about the zoo’s closure and the animals that had been left behind.
His discovery has drawn attention to the zoo’s dark past and the ongoing issue of animal welfare in abandoned facilities.
