E-hailing rides are usually uneventful, but for Malaysian driver Amirul Auzai, one ride in Cheras became unforgettable.
Three passengers, seemingly exhausted from their day, fell into such a deep sleep that waking them up turned into a challenge worthy of a comedy sketch.
The incident was captured in a video shared by Amirul himself on Tiktok. The clip documented the comical struggle of trying to wake the passengers, providing viewers with a firsthand look at their unwavering commitment to sleep.
Creative Wake-Up Tactics Fail
Amirul tried everything to wake the slumbering trio. He started gently, nudging one passenger’s knee and clapping his hands, but the results were the same—nothing.
Desperate for a new strategy, Amirul opened the rear door, hoping the movement or a gust of fresh air would snap them out of their nap.
The said passenger, conveniently leaning against the door, barely flinched. Instead, he muttered sleepily and gestured with his hand for Amirul to leave him alone and even tried to close the door himself to continue his nap.
Amirul’s Take: A Comical First in His Career
According to WeirdKaya, Amirul found the situation both surprising and amusing.
He explained that while passengers falling asleep during rides wasn’t unusual, this experience left him momentarily stunned as none of his usual wake-up methods worked.
He also recounted a particularly humorous moment involving one passenger, dressed in a white shirt, who outright refused to leave the car despite being woken up by his friends.
Eventually, his friend had to physically pull him out, adding to the hilarity of the situation.
A Viral Comedy of Errors
Far from being frustrated, Amirul viewed the incident as entertaining and even a welcome break from routine.
He described the experience as a lighthearted moment, emphasizing that work should be enjoyable rather than stressful.
Reactions and Comments
The hilarity of Amirul’s viral experience didn’t end with the video. Netizens flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts, often adding their humorous takes on the situation.
One commenter was curious about a potential follow-up:
“I want to see what happens in Part 2” Amirul humorously replied, “There’s no Part 2 because I didn’t have time to record it—I had to save myself first. Turns out the guy in the white shirt was drunk.”
Another commenter asked for closure:
“What happened in the end?” to which he replied, “In the end, he woke up but got slapped by his friend, who woke up first. I didn’t record it because the guy in the white shirt was drunk, so I had to save myself first.”
A bemused viewer wondered how the passengers could sleep so soundly:
“How long were they even out? They were sleeping so soundly, totally oblivious… they must’ve been way too comfortable.” to which he responded, “Not even 15 minutes.”
One creative commenter suggested a prank to wake the passengers, “You should’ve shouted “Fire! Fire! Fire!!”
Amirul, however, wasn’t taking any chances:
“Better not—what if they run off without paying?”
