It seems perverted acts are becoming more common, with another disturbing case shaking the community in Penang, Malaysia. Recently, a man was caught on CCTV stealing a woman’s bra and masturbating outside her apartment unit in Georgetown, Penang.
This incident, which occurred on October 20, 2024, has raised concerns about safety and privacy in shared residential spaces.
Disturbing Incident Caught on Camera
The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. at an apartment block in Tanjung Bungah, Penang. In the footage captured by the resident’s CCTV and shared on Facebook by Penang Today Community, the man can be seen slipping his hand through the metal grille of the victim’s front door to snatch a bra hanging on a clothesline inside.
After ensuring the corridor was empty, the man pressed the bra against his face, took a deep sniff, and began pleasuring himself.
After he was done, he returned the undergarment to its original spot and walked away.
Victim’s Discovery
As reported by Oriental Daily, the victim, a 31-year-old woman, was horrified when she received a motion alert from her CCTV application.
The app notified her of movement outside her door, and upon checking the footage, she discovered the man’s disgusting actions.
Without delay, she lodged a police report at around 1 p.m. the same day.
Northeast District acting police chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
However, no arrests have been made yet, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying the suspect.
Community Outrage and Heightened Safety Concerns
Once the CCTV footage was posted online, it quickly gained attention, sparking outrage and diverse reactions from the public.
Many expressed their disgust at the man’s behavior, with some commenters labeling him a “pervert” and expressing relief that there was CCTV footage to capture the act.
Other reactions included questioning the act of hanging personal items such as bras in accessible spaces, suggesting it might attract such behavior.
Some netizens also expressed frustration, feeling that the perpetrator had the potential to commit even more serious acts.
Ongoing Investigation
The Penang police are working to investigate the case and bring the man to justice. Authorities are reviewing the footage and gathering evidence to identify the suspect. They are also urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior.
The local community hopes that the perpetrator will be apprehended soon, ensuring that such vile acts are not repeated.
