In a video shared by @/saharuddinamirullah on TikTok, two young girls were seen walking with baskets selling curry puffs. Saharuddin, who was driving along the highway, stopped his car to investigate. Following a conversation with the two girls, he was overwhelmed with emotions upon learning that their father had recently passed away. Since their father was the sole breadwinner of the family, his sudden passing meant that the family could not make ends meet. Upon learning this, Saharuddin decided to aid them financially by purchasing all their curry puffs and providing them with additional money.
Locating the girls again, providing necessities
But the story didn’t end there. Subsequently, the next video showed Saharuddin taking the trouble to locate the girls again the following day to further support their family by providing them eggs and rice for their consumption. The gratitude on their faces spoke volumes about their appreciation for the aid they received from this kind-hearted man.
Video caption: Sometimes they eat only once a day because they can only afford to buy 2 kilos of rice. ‘Why don’t you buy 5 kilos of rice?’ ‘We don’t have enough money.’
In a subsequent TikTok video that he shared, Saharuddin was shown following the girls to their modest attap home, where they live with their mother and siblings, the youngest barely three years of age. Beyond providing groceries, he pledged ongoing support, promising to assist them in any way he could.
Video caption: They are so strong in navigating life without the presence of the family leader (father/husband has passed away).
As of the time of writing, Saharuddin’s videos have amassed over 1 million views, deeply touching the online community, who continually express gratitude and admiration for his sincere efforts to assist families in need. Even a modest sum can have a profound influence when given with sincerity. Every bit helps, adding to the collective support. His acts of kindness have inspired many to contribute to the well-being of those less fortunate. Such generosity highlights the impact that one person can make in transforming lives.
