What’s not to like about Thai cuisine? Tens of thousands of Singaporeans would visit the nation each year to bask in its splendour and dig into the local food scene. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to travel due to various reasons. Regardless, we may rest easy knowing that real Thai cuisine is readily available in Singapore.

Blue Jasmine is noted for its Thai classics and street cuisine staples, with a menu of shared plates bursting with fresh flavors. Phad Kee Mao Seafood and Cha Om Omelette are two of the restaurant’s signature dishes. With a wide selection of bento boxes, have a taste of all their delicious mains and sides that will guarantee you a filling meal.

Prawns, thai fish cake and a scoop of mango sticky rice are included in the Pad Thai Prawns Bento Set. For a spicy chicken alternative, try the Basil Chicken Krapao or if you are looking for a vegetarian alternative, the Basil Meat-Free Kaprao contains plant-based OmniMeat that is stir fried with snake beans and garlic along with Vegetarian Spring Rolls & Mini Mango Sticky Rice.

Next up, this stylish Thai restaurant nestled atop Labrador Nature Reserve is all about old-world elegance, with lofty ceilings, candle-lit wall lamps, and plenty of magnificent antiques. Tamarind Hill delivers a blend of classic and contemporary delicious Thai meals such as red curry with a choice of beef, pig, chicken, or vegetables, and is housed in a solitary renovated colonial cottage amidst lush foliage and peaceful waters.

Bring a piece of Thailand to your homes by ordering delivery if you find travelling a hassle. With delicious and traditional dishes such as Mieng Kham (Leaf Wrapped Salad) and Deep Fried Pandan Chicken, you will definitely be spoilt for choice.

Ah Loy Thai is a simple Thai restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Due to the large servings intended for sharing, the dishes are on the pricier side of around S$10 and above. The Thai Pandan Chicken is a fragrant and juicy crowd-pleaser that comes highly recommended by their regulars. Or allow the Thai Garlic Pork to wow you with its delectable pungency if you have a more refined palate.

For mains, try their Seafood Glass Noodles that is full of fresh ingredients and a good amount of wok hei or opt for the classic Tom Yum Seafood Soup that will warm and nourish your stomachs.

Nana Original Thai Food has the pleasant vibe of a loving grandmother who wants to feed you with large servings all the time. It’s also heavy on the spices, so be prepared to have your senses piqued. Nana means “various” in Thai, and the unpretentious café serves a wide range of Thai dishes. There are 18 different salads and 26 protein-based dishes to choose from so check out their full menu when you visit.

Although they had to close their popular Golden Mile outlet, their Clementi and Aperia Mall outlet is open 24/7 daily so your cravings for Thai Food can be settled at any time of day. On average, people spend about $15-20 per person here so grab a few friends to lower that cost when you visit.

  • Clementi | 18 Clementi Road, Singapore 129747
  • Far East Plaza | 14 Scotts Road, #01-21, Singapore 228213

Since 1999, Jai Thai has been offering the delicious Thai food at wallet friendly prices. Similar to a tze char restaurant, dishes on their menu starts from only $6 without skimping on the portion size. There is also a Halal certified outlet at SingPost Centre which appeals to a wider audience.

The majority of the chain’s dishes are well-received, but customers appear to have developed a specific fondness for the noodles. If you plan on visiting, make sure to try the Fried Tang Hoon and the Seafood Phad Thai!

Jai Thai Outlets:

  • SingPost Centre | 10 Eunos Rd 8, #B1-147, Singapore 408600
  • Clover Way | 7 Clover Way, Singapore 579080
  • Purvis Street | 27 Purvis Street, #01-01, An Chuan Building, Singapore 188604
