It has been alleged that the woman had been living inside the airport for about a year. After this incident, the authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, and various questions are being raised in the public mind about safety and management.

Origin of the Viral Video

The issue first came to the fore from a video that went viral on social media. The video shows a woman reacting strongly to the noise of children, and the situation is getting heated. Later, some passengers and staff try to calm her down.

At the same time, another clip shows her personal belongings scattered on the seats in the terminal. As a result, many people believe that she used to sleep and stay there.

Police Action

After learning about the incident, the KLIA police authorities took quick action. Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Albany Hamzah said that officers visited the scene after receiving the complaint. Investigation revealed that the woman is a local citizen and has a mental health card.

Considering the situation, she was sent to Kajang Hospital for treatment. Authorities said the matter is now being looked into by the Health and Social Welfare Department.

Multiple Homeless Realities

The investigation also revealed that the woman is not alone. At least five homeless people had been staying in the KLIA Terminal 1 area for over a year. They used the seats in the departure hall as beds and took showers in the upstairs toilets.

They would occasionally travel to the airport and other areas of Kuala Lumpur to avoid security. This allowed the matter to go unnoticed despite regular security patrols.

Authorities’ Appeal

After the incident, KLIA authorities urged the public not to spread rumors. In a Facebook comment, the airport authorities said that everyone should be patient while the investigation is ongoing. They said that necessary steps will be taken to protect the airport’s image and security. At the same time, a new discussion has also begun on the weaknesses of the social welfare system.

Social Media Reactions

Many on social media have compared the incident to a movie plot. Some say it is not just a safety issue but also a question of mental health and support for the homeless.

Others have expressed concern that such an incident could tarnish KLIA’s reputation as an international transit hub. At the same time, many netizens have called for humanitarian assistance.
